What are the ways that I can buy tickets to shows I see on the Ctix.org website?
As of September, 2007, there are two ways to buy discount tickets with the assistance of the Ctix web site. One is the traditional method of selecting and ordering tickets directly, with the Ctix.org web site. The other way uses the existing ticket sales systems and web sites of our new “Website Direct” Ctix partners. These are organizations that mainly use the Ctix.org website to advertise and promote shows, and provide special discounts to Ctix customers, generally using discount codes to be used when purchasing tickets using their existing ticket sales system.
How do I buy a ticket from Website Direct partners?
For shows promoted by new Website Direct partners – please read the informational pages here on the Ctix.org website. Those pages will not only provide information about shows and individual performances, but they should also provide specific information about where to go to purchase tickets, and how to get the special Ctix discounted ticket price for those performances. Specific questions about how to purchase discounted tickets for those performances using other ticket sales websites should be directed to the partner that is promoting the show. Contact information for all of our Ctix partners can be found on our Partners page, which you can access using the “organizations” link at the top of this page.
How do I buy a ticket online, directly via Ctix?
Half-price or discounted tickets are also sold ONLINE at www.ctix.org.
For those who don’t have a computer, all branches of the Cuyahoga County Public Library system have computers available for public use. Click here for basic instructions on how to purchase tickets through the Ctix web site.
How safe is my information when I purchase online?
“Secure Sockets Layer” software is used to protect the privacy of the information submitted to the ctix.org web site. This is industry-standard software that many popular retail web sites use. Click here for more information about Secure Sockets Layer software.
What if I forget my password?
Click on Ctix.org home page “Forgot Your Password?” then enter your email address and your login information will be sent to you. You can change your password in the “My Account” section when you log in.
What events are on sale at discount and half price?
Discount and half-price tickets are offered for events at Playhouse Square Center including selected shows at Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Opera Cleveland, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, some Broadway Series shows, Dance Cleveland, Verb Ballets, Dancing Wheels, as well as selected shows at The Beck Center for the Arts, The Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theatre. New partners and events may be added on a daily basis.
How can I get information on what shows are available at discount?

What if I don’t see a show I know is playing in Cleveland?
Discount tickets are not available for every show. Shows are offered on a selected basis at the discretion of Ctix partner organizations. For some shows, tickets may be available for certain days of the week only. Ticket inventory may change frequently and it’s a good idea to check back often to the Ctix.org web site. If you don’t see the show on the web site, it may not be offered at discount and you may wish to call the theater box office for information on buying full price tickets.
What is the discount for available shows?
Discounts range from 30% to 50% off the full price. While Ctix does not add a separate service fee, the price quoted may include a service charge added at the discretion of respective partner organizations, from $1.00 to $3.00 per ticket.
When are shows on sale?
Some shows will be available on the day of show only; others will be available in advance of the show date. Shows go on sale from 12:01 a.m. to generally two hours before performance time. Each show’s on-sale time is listed online.
How do I know where my seats are located in the theater?
You will be able to view online the seating maps for most venues. For events at Playhouse Square, seating is reserved by row and seat number that will be listed online for your selection when you purchase your tickets.
For events at other theaters, seating is either Best Available or General Admission, these selections will be noted online, and your seats will be assigned when you arrive at theater will call.
How do I pick up my tickets when I buy online?
Your online sale is concluded with the printing of a receipt with an order number that you may present at the theater box office will call. Please see the directions on your receipt for specific will call instructions.
When I buy online, who is selling me the tickets?
When you buy a Ctix ticket online, you are buying directly from the theater (or Ctix partner organization). Once you have selected your event and submitted your order, it goes directly to the theater box office, which processes the credit card information and prepares your ticket for will call pickup. (Your relationship is directly with the theater that will handle any discrepancies or problems that might occur.)
What happens if I lose my receipt?
Theater box office staff has a list of all tickets sold online with customer names. Go to the venue box office and give your name. You will be asked to provide additional information to verify you are the purchaser of the ticket. Identification will be required.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds are subject to the policy of each theater or partner organization.
